stamped brass insignia of a royal crown over a star burst with crossed
cannon and the Spanish crest. Reverse retains one attachment loop and
ring. For wear on the distinctive Spanish dress shako called the "Ros".
The pattern was retained in the 1884 Artillery uniform regulations and is
known to have been used during the Spanish American War. The lot also
includes two artillery tunic buttons with Madrid back marks. The lot is
said to have been the souvenirs of a man in the 20th Kansas but I was
never able to get his name. All pieces show age toning and some oxidation.
Fair to good condition. S&H-$5.50
